  • 3:00 PM: Depart from Shahdag and return to Baku (approximately 2 hours).

  • Evening: Reach Baku

  • Daytime: Spend the day exploring Baku's historical and cultural attractions, including:
    • Gobustan National Park & Mud Volcanoes: For a truly unique experience, take a trip to Gobustan National Park, located just outside Baku. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its prehistoric rock art, with petroglyphs dating back thousands of years. The park is also home to mud volcanoes, which are natural formations that erupt with mud and gas. You can walk along the trails and see these bubbling mud pools up close.

    • Ateshgah Fire Temple: Azerbaijan has a long history of fire worship, and the Ateshgah Fire Temple is a fascinating testament to that. This Zoroastrian fire temple, once a pilgrimage site for Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs, features a central courtyard with an altar where natural gas flames once burned continuously. While the natural flames are now gone, the temple is still a unique and atmospheric place to visit.
    • Heydar Aliyev Center: a stunning architectural masterpiece designed by the late Zaha Hadid. This futuristic building houses a museum, concert hall, exhibition halls, and more. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history and culture of Azerbaijan, while the concert hall hosts a variety of performances throughout the year. Be sure to walk around the exterior of the building to admire its unique, flowing curves.

    • Yanardag (Burning Mountain): also known as the Burning Mountain. This natural gas fire burns continuously on a hillside overlooking the Caspian Sea, creating a spectacular sight. You can walk up to the fire or take in the views from a distance.

  • Start by driving from Baku to Ismailli (approximately 170 km, 2.5 hours). Ismayilli is a beautiful town nestled in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains.

  • From Ismailli, continue driving to Yedi Gozel Waterfall (Seven Beauties Waterfall) (approximately 40 km, 45 minutes). This is a stunning waterfall complex with seven cascading tiers.

  • Next, drive to Nohur Lake (approximately 25 km, 30 minutes). This is a large freshwater lake located in the Gabala region.

  • Finally, make our way to Tufandag Resort. This is a popular ski resort that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

  • After spending an hour at the top of Tufandag, we will start our return trip to Baku (approximately 235 km).

Baku has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Pack comfortable walking shoes, lightweight clothing for the day, and an extra layer for evenings, especially if visiting in the cooler months. Consider modest clothing when visiting religious sites in Old Baku.

The currency in Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN). You can exchange your currency for AZN at the airport upon arrival or at banks in Baku. Most major credit cards are also accepted at hotels and larger restaurants, but it's always good to have some local currency on hand for smaller purchases and transportation.

The official language of Azerbaijan is Azerbaijani. However, many people in the tourism industry, particularly in Baku, also speak English and Russian. It might be helpful to learn a few basic phrases in Azerbaijani, but it's not essential for navigating the tour.
